golden butterfly feeding

Anyone have a golden butterfly or several. what are you feeding them? I have one that was eating mysis sh. initially. Shortly after getting him I had to treat for ich. I lowered slinity and treated with copper. The golden never really showed any signs of ich and the tangs cleared up in short order. however the golden decided he doesn't want to eat anything now. He tastes all the different foods I've tried, but spits it out like he wants something different. He still looks great and acts normal. I've tried squid, mysis, clams, oysters, zoo plankton and blood worms. any other suggestions? I thought of trying cyclopeze, but he tends to check out the larger size morsels, like mysis. So I suspect he would not show interest in that.

Mine eats everythig I throw in the tank.

Perhaps he doesn't like the "taste" of the water after your ick treatment. I would run carbon for a few days and then do a large water change.

Have you tried live food ? Live brine? Live Black worms?

All parameters are back to normal now, I've been running chemi pure on the system and salinity is back to normal as well. The only live food I've tried is guppies (thats all that is avail. to me) and he didn't even act interested in them.

Perhaps you could soak the mysis in a garlic extract. It's widely accepted that the garlic acts as a powerful appetite stimulant.

You can get the extract at most major grocery stores. Or, you can crush your own cloves.

Thanks for the ideas, I've tried that too, I make my own garlic extract and use it in the foods I feed every few weeks or so. I'm hoping to get some live brine shrimp to try tomarrow.
