Golden Butterfly

Hello

I have two golden butterfly which I had for 11 days now

one eats anything I throw in the tank, but I have problem feeding the

other one. I feed him flakes, pellets, brine shirmp and mysis shrimp.

He takes a bite but keep spitting back out and picks the rock and

alage on the glass all day. Should I worry?

Keep trying more foods. IME butterflies love live blackworms, and finely minced scallop/shrimp from the grocery store. The minced meat doesn't have all those prickly antennae and legs and eyes like whole mysis

Try a live clam on half shell...they will never refuse. Secondly, I would tie a piece of nori to a rock till your Semi start eating prepared food.

I'd second the live black worms, as well as the other suggestions. They are pretty hardy fish just keep trying and be patient.

Are you sure the one not eating isn't sick? They are not picky eaters........... mine at raw shrimp, clams, scallops, Ocean Nutrition Formula foods, Nori, mysis.

+1. Were they QT'ed? Butterflies really catch every disease out there, IME.

I have bought twenty Butterflies over the years & only THREE have been disease free.

I didnt QT, because I dont have QT set up. I FW dips and Formalin Dips

before I put him to tank. he constantly picks on alage on glass and rock

and he does take the prepared food he just spits backout

IF my butterfly is sick, what kind of disease can it be? I can't really see

any symtoms on his body but he is not active as my other golden and not as fat

too

My butterfly loves blackworms! I gave him some live black worms today

and he is eatting very aggressivly competeting with my tangs. thanks guys!

what is my next step to get him to eat prepared food?
