Golden Fiji Blenny

Hello DFS,

I had a question pop up in my tank thread that got me a little curious. I have a fiji golden blenny from your divers den, it is a beautiful fish I must say. The question was asked if it was not in fact a golden blenny but just the juvenile morph of the black sailfin blenny. Is this true or will these fiji's stay golden the duration of their life?

I did a little research and it looks like they are collected from different areas, although nearby. I also sent you an email with no response so I am posting here. Thanks again, always had a good experience with you guys.

OranguTang,

Thank you for your excellent inquiry. If you would please PM us with your order information, we would be happy to verify the specimen you have received, as well as look into the color development of the fish.

OranguTang,
Thank you for your patience. This is a juvenile morph. It has been our experience that these fish will maintain their yellow coloring in captivity. If the fish is kept in a good environment with proper water parameters and diet, it should remain yellow. Please contact us at 1-800-344-3699 if you have any further concerns about this fish.
