cool, that is a beautiful place. I think it was where I saw first wild owl. Maybe a tad over exposed on the last one but overall they look good :)..

+1

If you get a chance, try to get the bridge when just the towers are visible through the fog (deck obscured). It's a neat feel. I think it'd make a cool B&W shot too.

OK, I "have" to know the secret here! :p :lolspin:
Is this how you took the picture or is it photo shopped, or both?
We are planning a trip to SF the first of the year, and would absolutely LOVE to take a picture like that!

Thanks!

I agree that the third photo is a bit overexposed. I've always wanted to take a photo of the bridge with fog but I havent gotten to it yet (usually venture to the city on less foggy days).

Haha and edandsandy, the photos are not photoshopped but simply long exposures at low iso. that way you can collect as much available light in the dark revealing smooth waters, car trails, and those twinkling lights.

If you do attempt one of those long exposures, make sure you have a tripod, or another steady object to rest the camera on, or it will come out blurry.

I had an opportunity to stop on treasure island the other day! here are the results!

Here's another view of the western span of the Bay Bridge as it joins San Francisco. The vantage point for this shot is relatively unique - it's taken from Alcatraz Island.

I only had my point and shoot and no tripod with me but when I saw the full moon poking through the clouds over the bridge and the city, I had to try to take some pics. Yes it's dark. Yes it's noisy. And yes, it was handheld, so cut me some slack!

All of your pictures are just great. Never seen the bridge in person. I love all of the different angles it is shot from. The pictures of SF are just beautiful. Great photos...

I wasn't quite happy with my Bay Bridge shots from a few weeks ago. Thus, I ventured out earlier this time!

here are some shots from around 4:30pm

Transamerica

Transamerica

I decided on a whim to head to SF to photograph the Transamerica building during sunset.

Reflections and dirty windows didn't help but i did my best!
