Golden sweepers

Never seen these for sale but would like to get some. Does anybody have experience with this fish or know where to buy them? Seems like a good shoaling fish. Thanks.

I've kept copper sweepers, but never goldens. I am going to set up a display where the tank is like the mouth of a cave and have the sweepers in a school just like I've seen in the ocean.

In the past I've kept them they do not ship well, even from ocean to my tanks when I've caught them myself and gone streight home. The ones that make it to a couple of days seem to do well, but they are very docile, being picked on by just about any other fish. They are sensative to stress, and I kept losing them to stress related problems. At one point I was left with 3 in a lg reef and they did fine, but it took 20 or so on several tries to get the 3. In my next set up, they will be the only fish (at least until they are very well established). I think, just from the past tries, they will do ok if they have no stress, then I'll add some other peaceful fish that share the habitat.

they do not get large, remaining small. Once you have them on hand and acclimated to your environment, they should do fine. But it takes a big tank as they tend to want to school/shoal. I have no clue where you might get them in this country.

I've never seen them for sale, but they are common here in FL. If you have a LFS that you are on good terms with, dynasty marine in the keyes should be able to get them. The problem will be shipping them to you as they are very poor shippers. To increase your luck, get small ones and get a big group, they are very skittish and always found in schools. Once they arrive put them in a quiet, dark tank where they can feel comfortable. Once I acclimated the 3 they were fine. They were in with a flameback pygmy angel, common FL tang, and a swiss guard basslet.
