goldflake angel

No experience with them, but if he is eating and looks healthy, that will be a steal. They are an Angel, so it will be hit or miss with corals.

Yes, that's a really good price. They are on the safer side for reef safe angels, but still a gamble. Gorgeous fish.

Mine left all existing corals in the tank alone including zoas. But any new lps other than euphyllias were toast.

I wouldn't trust it in a reef, but the price is great!
I scored this beauty about 9 months ago for $130.

LFS in Mesa AZ. Was still juvi, now changing.
They have one in now that is twice the size, but its $400.
I'll wait for mine to grow at that price.

Mine won't hurt healthy coral, but will nibble dying coral that otherwise would recover, especially lps. Much better to have the fish imo.

Small ones will adapt better to tank life.

Also taking the small juveniles from the ocean has a far lesser impact than taking the large breeders. The juveniles will be replaced within weeks, but a breeding pair may take a year or more to establish.

What shop in Phoenix? I guess it would also determine the LFS. There are some shops up there I trust and some I don't. But my gold flake didn't touch anything until about a year old. Then it decimated my acans, lobos, and fungia. It picks at SPS but doesn't destroy them.

Aquarium Arts in Mesa. I buy most my fish there.
I really like that they post the arrival date for all specimens on the tanks.
Makes it easy to skip a fish if has not been in the store long.
Of course since I make weekly rounds of 4 or 5 stores, I pretty much know what's new and what's not. Addiction sucks.
