I have started gathering fish for my new tank and the goldflake angel may have just made the list. My QT's are starting to get a few prize fish in preperation I do have a Red Sea Regal angel but wanted a other fairly reef safe angel. I am going with an sps heavy reef with a few select lps and maybe a softie or two. So if you have one what types of corals do you keep and what should i stay away from. Thank in advance.

Hi,I have a goldflake in my reef.
I am still stocking my tank .Corals I
Have at the moment are a few softies
I also have lps, hammer , torch no sps yet...
Goldflake is well behaved I keep him well fed though.
Every fish is different so you can't tell really;).
Regards Colin.

Sps i am not really concerned with as i dont think that will be a problem. I really want Duncans, Torch or hammer or frogspawn, open brains, closed brains, acans, elegance, and pagoda cup. Those are what i am really concerned with. I understand every fish is an individual, just hoping i get a good one if i go with one. Also how easy are they to keep, meaning do they readily accept prepared foods easier than other angels like Regals?

Hi mate,my Goldflake will take a variety of food.Never had any issues with it:)

Ps forgot to say I have Duncan's aswell!Goldflake doesn't touch them!

Regards Colin.

Open Brains, and Acan's are the only thing that most any Angel can not resist, given the exception of 99% of the Genicanthus sp.

Its a beautiful fish and I wish you the best of luck with it,
-Ray

I have my goldflake for nearly a year. He is with a regal and venustus angels as well. I have a mixed tank but is sps dominant. He only touches open brains or new acans.
He left my scollies and existing acans alone, but makes quick work of new ones.
My zoas are slowly away, but I have never seen any fish pick at them.
