Any thoughts to why the polyps receded?

Looks like you moved it. Could that be the reason?

Update:
Moved to frag rack with return pipe flowing gently - minimal extension

Moved to the sand bed barely any flow- TBA

Also make sure it's not too much light. Are you feeding reefroids or similar food?

I've had gonis and alvapora and they did well on the bottom. I only have the Stuchberry now, which is a micro Goni, but I keep it on the bottom as well. Low flow.

Turn off power heads, return pump and target feed. It needs medium light and low flow
