Goniopora info...?

I have a goniopora in my 60 gallon reef that I might not have necessarily bought but my husband picked up @ a fish store that he was calling on (he's in pet sales). It has been in my tank for about 3 months now, and when the polyps aren't extended (after lights go out) the base is about 3 inches wide, but when they are extended, it is at least triple if not quadruple the size. I take it from the polyp extensions that it is doing good, but I have read that they usually only last about a year in captivity. It also has very good color (pink and green) and no dead spots. Does anyone have experience with these corals? Any and all suggestions are welcome.

Try searching "New to the Hobby" and this forum for more info on Goniopora. Success rates with Goniopora vary and are dependant on a number of factors - one of which is a nutrient rich water column (which in a closed system is a major fuel for the growth of undesirable or nuisance algae).
