goniopora??

I have had a green goniopora for over 2yrs now and it has done well for the first 18 mos. Mine buds off all the time even though it is receding now. Does any one know if they all spawn like this or is it just certain flowerpots that do it? And how can you tell which ones bud and the ones that don't?

It is just certain species. There are several of the larger polyped green hemispherical shaped species that form buds. I've seen budding from one of the larger polyped red species, but haven't seen them on any of the purple species. I've never seen any of the species with smaller polyps/smaller corallites form buds.
