Video of my Gonzo yellow sunburst bta trying to split. It was so close that I probably should of intervened and helped the split. He has been trying to split all week and I find it odd it hasn't happened yet. Cool video though glad I caught it when I did. The predicted split has already been promised to M0nkie :)

I'm not exactly sure that it is really trying to split. Specifically, there is a lack of symmetry and little or no evidence of separation around the mouth. Also, the nem is a little on the small side to be splitting IMO/IME.

No it's trying to split but thanks for the opinion. I've had small BTA's split, the size of a BTA has nothing to do when they're tyring to split. Like I said, I've had smaller than this size bta's split. The size isn't really the factor, how much you feed an enviroment is. I feed this guy all the time and when you over feed BTA's they are happy and tend to split quicker in my experience. Also, I have so many different types of anemones that it may want to reproduce quickly to ensure it lives in the tank. Plus this guy was cut, not naturally split, they tend to split quicker when cut. Look at mini carpets, they split all the time around 2". When an anemone splits. the mouth is rarely even, at least in my cases.

You are entitled to your opinion and only time will tell, but I have a 210 gal nem tank and have witnessed more BTA splits than I can count. None of them looked like yours or took so much time (usually complete the division in less than half a day). I also have had a number of my Btas look like yours -- not when they are splitting but either when injured or in an awkward position.

Yeah I guess we'll find out soon enough. I can tell you this, his foot looked separated to split, 2 feet in 2 different directions indicate splitting. Every split I've witnessed, maybe not as many as your 210 gallon lol, they move their feet in opposite directions and split. That is exactly what this guy was doing. I also know my tank and what goes into it. I know when my nems are happy like they are now. Werrrrrr seee though! This is my favorite BTA by far so I'm excited to watch it develop. There are some nice ones out there but Gonzo's yellow is my fav.

lol you can go look up my thread Gonzo yellow sunburst if you'd like otherwise this is a thread for him splitting hopefully. But thank you for the kind words and have a blessed day! This nem is rockn!

Current pics it looks to be slowly creeping half it's body back up the rock. I accidentally moved his rock forward during a water change early this week.
