Hi RC,
I'm a beginner and don't know anything about cameras... I have a cannon for regular pics, but now want to take micro pics (will use it for mi corals)... Well, I'm looking for a camera that I can take micro zoom (lots of details) and nice colors... Any advice will be very appreciated!!!
Thanks,
Omar

Telling us what your budget is will go a long ways towards helping make a recommendation.

But basically, a decent DSLR body with one of the 100mm macro lenses paired to it will do exactly what you want. You'll probably be looking at around $1300-$1500 for a "good" setup, but you can go cheaper or more expensive if you need to.

Wow!!! Is to much 1,300...
I'm learning right now, so want to have a beginner camera to play with and then when I feel more secure will buy an expensive one...
Looking from $400-$800

Get the Leica D-LUX 5. If your Canon is not really good sell it and just keep the Leica.

That one will take good close up pics???
I will put an idea of the pics will like to have...

Can I found a camera that will take that type of close up for that budget or at least that close???

Also, I like the canon cameras...
I have the canon Power Shot A720 IS...
Can I upgrade it or add a lens???

Check the DSLR sticky up top, it'll tell you what to look for when shopping. Your A720 is a decent consumer point and shoot but it's not very well suited for aquarium photography. You could certainly buy an older Canon DSLR and a 100mm macro lens (the same lens used on your examples) and stay within your budget.

Also, the G12 is a nice little P&S camera. Because of the color of our lights, the best way to get accurate color is to use a camera that allows you to shoot in RAW mode. RAW allows you to set white balance on the computer, after the shot.

Thank u for the info!!!
Just came from different stores looking for the camera and found the canon rebel t2i and they have it in special for $799, but the lense that it cames is for maximum of 55mm... I can upgrade it for $200 more and have a lense from 55mm-200mm... Total of $1,000

You will still want a macro lens to get the shots you want.
