good cheaper skimmer for 75

Jason it is very hard ( maybe impossible ) to use "good" and "cheap" in a sentence together to describe one skimmer:lol:.
But there are several "good value" brands that come to mind: Vertex, SWC, Reef Octopus, and Bubble Magus to name a few.

Octopus extreme 160 has been great on my 90 gallon. Under 300 is cheap in the reef world for a good skimmer

thanks for all the help, what about a used Asm g3? im looking for something used (to save some money)

honestly i have a coralife 125 and have had 0 problems just touchy on the controls but other then that i love it and it pulls so much out

hands down i love the Bubble Magus NAC7.. I also have a 75g tank with a 20g long sump... the nac7 is compact, amazingly quiet, and it really pulls the gunk out. I will try to get a video up or something for you to see but I ordered mine from BRS (check in the sponsors section) and it was a pretty "cheap" for a quality skimmer. shipped I spent about 290 but remember this thing is supposed to pull 30% of the junk out of the water column. The rest is wrenching water changes and more wrenching water changes. Dont waste your time or cash buying some no name skimmer or any equipment for that matter. Save up and order the equipment you want! Trust me I bought two crappy skimmers before I finally said "screw it im just gonna get the skimmer i wanted" if I would have done that I would have saved almost enough to buy another NAC7.

I've been running an ASM G-3 for over two years on my 75g. Not big on water changes and my tank is always very clear. All of my fish have been in the tank for over 1.5 years.

You can get a used one in the $125-$150 range.

Eshopps hot skimmers worked great for me. Psk75h. Skimmed like crazy, not loud over broken in. never had a problem!

You can probably find a used Euro Reef RS80 (newer model with wedge pipe) for about $100. Built better than ASM. Solid performer.

Eshopps PSK-75 is decent for the price. I use it on a 40B and it does a good job. You might want to look at the PSK-150 for your tank. I belive Drs. Foster & Smith still have them on sale too.
