If you are really looking for long time on batteries, you should check out an inverter/charger with a deep cell battery. About $200 more than that though.

Joe, how do you get the battery to kick on automatically when the power goes out if you set it up that way?

The inverter/charger works as a UPS and transfers over power in case the utility power goes down.
