Good Dendro news!

Well, you may or may not remember me talking about my dendro not opening and not eating after getting hit by a frogspawn bomb (little piece of tentacle they let loose around the tank size of a pea) ...

Dendro was out large to feed with its sticky tentacles and what are the chances it caught the bomb :(

Wellllll after a while the flesh peeled off of the skeleton and it was very thin.. reminded me of one of those wafer cookie things.. but a tiny tiny bit of orange stayed on around the base.

Tonight I look with a light and there are teeny itty bitty polyps starting to come out of the base, so it looks like leaving the skeleton alone is paying off and it might preserve itself!

I am wondering what to feed these little guys? They seem trained to come out at night just like the mother, never had her fully trained to come out in the day anyway...

I dose phycopure (phytoplankton) for my pods as well as coral vibrance.. I am wondering if while they are so tiny they will need anything more?

As they get larger I am thinking pellets when they are large enough to ingest and hopefully they'll make it to adult sized polyps and i can once again feed big stuff like mysis and chrissties mix

Any advice is much appreciated, thanks!

If I remember correctly, phytoplankton is too small for Duncan to effectively catch and use. I would suggest something more like marine snow, or frozen food 'juice' (you know, like if youre thawing frozen mysis in a cup of tank water- bathe the polyps in the juice until theyre large enough to eat large chunks of mysis itself). Rotifers might be another good option, as would mashed cyclopeeze (or whole, depending on just how big the polyps are at this point).

Cool I have some cyclopeez I will try and my LFS suggested some oyster eggs that i will check out when i go there this weekend

I'm excited, i'll try to get some pics tonight if i can get the camera to focus on these tiny guys

That's great news, I feed the little ones cyclopezee and chopped up frozen food, they seem to catch some of it.
