With the idea of redundancy, it's always a good idea. But is connecting my controller to my chiller a good idea?
My main gripe is the chiller turning on and off via the controller. All power is lost every time the controller shuts the chiller off, given it turns back on with the correct settings. My fear is that if it's off for a certain amount of time and then turn back on, the setting might get erased and some default will be on thus causing it to cool down too much or not at all. On top of that, if it cools too much then it will be cooling against the heater.
The controller I am using is the Aquacontroller Jr. & the chiller is a ViaAqua Polar Bear Model CC-25.
How do you guys have your chillers set up?
