You may have seen my last post, if not, i recently purchased a 25gallon acrylic flatback hex tank.

I'm wondering now what kind of light to get for it.

2 requirements, I want metal halide, and I want it to look nice without a canopy.

2 ideas are:

24 inch Outer Orbit 1x150W 10K HQI-MH 1/ 2x65W Dual Actinic & 4 Lunar Lights for $350

or

Current USA SunPod 24 inch, 1x150W 14000K PowerPaq HQI Lamp & Lunar Lights for $275.

Anyone used either of these? any recommendations, or anyone have something like these for sale?

thanks,

matt

Matt, what type of corals are you planning on keeping, clams?
You don't need 250w, and you may really appreciate the actinic.
Does that combo light hang?

both lights that i mentioned sit on top of the tank with legs.

i plan on keeping zoos, sps and likely a clam .

i want lighting that will allow me to keep anything. i have a 70w metal halide on my nanocube now, and everything opens up much larger than it used to with the power compacts.

i want the same effect, but with the upgraded tank i want a nice upgraded light.
