I'm keeping my fingers crossed for all those without AC or garage tanks. Hope you have frozen water bottles ready and lots of fans!

We have soccer games all weekend, at least they moved the venue from Trione Field (artificial turf) to A Place To Play (grass)!!!!!

Sean,

Good call on the frozen water bottles. there are actual food service chiller bottles for cooling soups and sauces. they probably have them at cash and carry, or any of the restaurant equipment supply places like meyers, castino, or rosenberg's.

111 today and tomorrow in San Ramon... Our kids soccer games/practices get cancelled if it exceeds 100. I think we'll just be sitting on the floor in the family room under the fan, hoping the A/C doesn't go out!

I've got our thermostat set to 79. Any hotter and I'll have to switch off my T5s to save the tank.

I have an oversized central air unit because I'm a prima Donna. I HATE being hot. Put me in a Midwest winter - no problem. I'll cruise through Tahoe in a t shirt. But, anything over low 80's and I turn into a total pain in rear.

That said, mine is set to 74 [emoji51]

Ours is a 2 day tournament so as of now it hasn't been cancelled. They usually do water breaks at the 15-20 minute mark in each half if temperature reaches 90+.

Our thermostat has been set to 74 all this summer because it's been unusually hot but I usually open up the house at night since it's cooler than that at night plus it gets fresh air into the house.

Yep, that's the great thing (usually) about the Bay Area. Even if it gets up to 100 outside, our house doesn't usually hit 79 until the late afternoon, then the A/C runs until nightfall. Once the sun goes down, we open up all the windows and it cools right down.

But this little heat wave is a bit different. Last night it didn't hit 70 degrees outside until around 5am in the morning. We had to keep the house sealed up all night with the A/C on. I hate that! Luckily we only need to do that a handful of days each year.

We have neighbors that run their A/C 24/7/365 with their houses sealed up. I can't imagine what their PG&E bills are like.

We do have it lucky here that we can open everything up at night. I know when we are back in the Midwest in the summer it's always 70 by the time the sun comes up.

Having the coastal influence is huge, and helps our tanks ph too [emoji51]

It just occurred to me that when I switched from LED to T5, I never added in the Apex code to turn off my lights if the tank gets too hot. That's now been corrected!

My tank hit 82 yesterday which was normal last summer when I was running t5's. I threw a frozen milk jug in the sump but I don't think it had much affect on 140g of water. I also went through 8 gallons of top off water.

Good luck as well my daughter has played a few u12 tourneys with other teams girls are def bigger
