Good or Bad Crab?

We noticed a new hitch hiker today. Something was reaching out of one of the small hole in the rock and eating small items. It look to be a spotted claw of a crab . I patiently waited for him to come out of the hole but I think I was making him nervous. The claw reminded me of the crabs we eat..sorry.. but instead of red it was spotted.
Does anyone know what it might be?

there are only a small handfull of crabs that are good (even those few are not always so well behaved). Chances are any crab hitchiker, esp. if seen eating small items is not something you want, with the most noteable exception being the porcelain crabs, they are readily ID'd by their webbed fan-like appendages which they use to filter particualte matter from the water to feed on.

Agree with marduc, I do not trust them, I remove mine when able, sometimes they are difficult and you need patience

one simple rule:
short claws=good crab.
long claws=bad crab.

We will remove him..any suggestions on how to catch him?
