Good or Bad need to know ASAP

Hi All,

I just got this frag in today of sun corals and noticed these brown worm like things hanging off of it. Are these typical or a pest? If they are a pest, how would I quarantine this? Some of them are actually embedded into the coral and most are at the base of the coral.

are they hard and not moving? (like lower right of the coral picture?)

if so, those are probably feather duesters and fine. Even if they were bristly worms (google a picture of them), small ones are good to have.

I don't believe they are feather dusters as I have plenty of those in my tank and I've not ever seen any actually embedded into a coral.
They appear to be a bit stiff not like a worm and they don't appear to move.
Let me know what you think.

Ya, I got $5 that says it is
Harmless to the coral. In some cases a coral can grow over them, in most cases though the snail can keep up and grow right along with it. Only thing that is a nuicant is when they spread their webbing into the watercolumn to filter feed. The web can drag along the host coral or neighboring corals. Not stinging it, but effecting polyp extension and food and flow exposure. Otherwise a harmless filter feeder.

If you look at the opening you'll notice movement and may notice two pair of antenna.

Could be Spionid worms. They're also harmless.

Alot of corals have worms living within them. One of the coolest corals I ever had was a tricolor+ acro secale with glowing cyan blue polyps that had worms living in it that were colored exactly as the lighter tones on the coral. Looked to me to have obviously evolved together and added to the beauty of the coral. The worms were never a problem, lost the coral in a tank crash.
