Most welding gas supply houses like Airgas will just exchange a filled certified bottle for yours and some money. If you have a sentimental attachment to your specific bottle, the weld shop can send them out also.

What I did was take it to a hydroponics store that exchanges them. No hydro test needed and it's like 25 bucks to swap out.

But people buy brand new tanks for premium price from Marine depot or bulk reef supply and they are hesitant to swap it for a ugly looking tank. lol
That is why I always try to buy a ugly looking second hand to swap it for a good looking one. LOL.

I went to hydroponics store in Newark, I pay $7 for exchange 5 lbs. They have great condition Aluminum tank with certified in exchange for my old tank.

If you bought the tank originally from them yes.
I took mine to what I thought was Airgas (cuz the tank was Airgas) but it was Alliance welding. And because the tank was from Airgas n not from them, they charged me for a hydro n a refill (tank swap).
The total came up to even with what I would have paid for a hydro n no fill up at a scuba shop I was going to take it to so I did the swap. Came back with a newer looking tank and now all I need to do is go back to Alliance when I need a refill n swap out a tank for a small fee.
