Good Reference Thread for Us Beginners

I happened to stumble across this thread today in WaterKeeper's Anti-Social Group:

http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1031074

WaterKeeper is the author of the thread and an RC Mod, and it appears that he's tired of answering the same questions over and over again from us noobs. So, he put this thread together in 2007. It's a pretty darn good collection of reading.

I've subscribed to the thread just to bookmark it for my own reference. Maybe I'll even remember I have it book marked so that I can consult it before asking another question that has probably already been answered 100 times before. :hmm4:

I actually saw this thread listed in WaterKeeper's thread, but when I tried to click on it the link was dead:

I guess the old thread has been archived, but this is the new thread and it also includes a link to the archived version.

I don't know for certain, but I believe the Capn_Hylinur even posts in the URS. Hamilton isn't too far away, and I KNOW that Home Alone looking avatar is familiar to me.

After seeing this, I think we might need another thread with the reefkeeping biographies of some of the members of the URS. Personally, I would LOVE to know who the various "experts" are in the URS, and the areas where they might have particularly advanced knowledge. Being active for the better part of 4 months, I've STARTED to identify some of these individuals, but it would have been easier for me had they been clearly identified previously (sorry if I offended any of you by questioning your expertise!)

Of course, most people in the URS are probably too modest to want to write about themselves, but it could be helpful to others in the URS.

Just a thought...
