Good source for RO/DI & SW storage containers?

I'm looking into setting up a SW mixing station. I would like to find some storage containers for the RO/DI and Salt water that are a bit nicer that the Brute trash can I have been using up 'til now. I have seen a lot of nice setups in various threads on RC, but I am wondering if anyone can suggest where I might find the best deal on some food grade containers in the 30 to 50 Gallon size. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

Online you can try www.ntotank.com. They carry Ace and Norwesco vertical water storage tanks in a variety of sizes and decent prices. You can also find the blue storage barrels in both open top and closed on eBay. Word of warning, however, the shipping costs are going to surprise you.

You can also check locally and on Craigslist for used storage containers, but you need to make sure that they are food-grade and have not carried any type of detergent or chemical.

I'm also looking for something. I know Ace Roto Mold has some really nice containers. The 55 gallon vertical storage tank is what I would love to get but I don't want to pay for it. :0) It has gallon marks along the side and will come with an outlet fitting installed (or not, if you want). Shipping is not cheap either, but I'm sure it's worth the price.

I got these 35gal. from a local guy on Craigslist for $20.00 ea. He said he gets them from Publix. No bulkheads or caps, I used Uniseals from Marie Depot.

Craigslist is a great avenue to check for this. I found a burn drum this way and it turned out the guy had everything from metal drums to food grade liquid storage totes (Barrels similar to the ones in smokey's pic and the big caged rectangular ones.)

Ace and Norwesco both make vertical storage tanks that have graduated markings and have a fitting pre-installed. Online you can find them at www.ntotank.com in a variety of sizes and decent pricing. You can also find the blue storage barrels both with open tops and close tops on eBay quite often. Word of warning: shipping prices on these types of containers are going to surprise you.

If you do find some locally just make sure that they are food-grade and have not contained detergents for chemicals prior.

That's exactly the issue I am having. I can find the ace roto mold 55g containers in a lot of places online at pretty reasonable prices until you factor in shipping, which is sometimes more that the cost of the containers themselves. I'm trying to find some place here in Central Florida where I can just go buy them without having to have them shipped.

Try a hardware store. I didn't pay shipping for mine. Just had to weight on there achedule

Just found what I was looking for. I ordered two Ace Roto Mold 40 Gallon Vertical Dome Top Tanks (VT0040-18) from ruralking.com for $165 total, and got free shipping.

Whoa, how did you get free shipping?? I just got an estimate of $150 just for shipping a 55 and a 40 gal!! I'm in SE Michigan, which is not so far from Illinois!!

i can get these for 10.00 each all day.. They use them at the Distilleries for vinegar and Other ingredients in making Bourbon ......

There are lots of Bourbon being made all around me.....

Craigslist.

There's a lot of people selling food grade barrels that were being used to store stuff (mostly BBQ sauce around here). I think I paid $10 each for mine for 55 gallon
