It was nice to finally make it to a meeting again for a change (having it on a different weekend than my "publishing weekend" helped a lot)!
Good to see so many old-timers there, as well as a lot of new faces (new to me anyway!).
Thanks for the green millie, Joe - you're right, it appears to be "struggling," but I have hope it will turn around... I'll keep you posted!
Loving the "jedi" monti, Bob (I think that's what you called it?)... and the candycane fits just perfectly (for now!) in a previously open spot in my tank, Grant (and Grant, in response to your request, you can learn more about my newsletter at NotWallStreet (dot) com)
Overall, my tank is doing well these days, though I've had the following two "bad events" over the past week:
1) in my 120, I came home the other day to find one of my new emerald crabs peeling flesh off of one of my stylophoras (!) - I moved the piece out into the sand and away from the rock surface (since those crabs tend to only scurry around the rocks), and hopefully the bare patches will recover. Anyone else ever observed this behavior in mithrax crabs?
2) I bought a yashe hassa (sp?) goby a little over a week ago to keep the pistol shrimp in my 6 gallon company... and though I saw the shrimp once after that, neither the shrimp nor the fish can be found anywhere now!!! perhaps they're holed up inside a rock and will eventually come out, but given that I don't even see them when food is added to the tank, I'm getting close to counting them as "lost" (without any apparent reason why) :-(
And, on a separate note, I have once again observed peppermint shrimp clearing out aptasia over a short period of time for those of you are still wondering if it really happens!
Anyhow, it was great to see folks I haven't seen in awhile - looking forward to seeing y'all again soon!
