Do they make something that i can put on or in my sand that makes a steady flow of bubbles that rise to the top, that i do not have to plug in?

This sounds crazy, but i put so more rock in my tank last night, and a steady flow of small bubbles came up from the rock for about ten minutes, and not only did it look cool, but fish had a blast with the bubbles, they loved it....

The bubbles you see comming from the rock is just from air in the rock that was there before you put it in the tank. You can add an airstone to your tank but really no point and you may get some extra salt creep.

airstones don't need hooked up to anything? I know that there is no benefit to the bubbles, i just liked the way they looked and my fish had fun with them...

You'll need an airpump to pump the air into the tank and through the airstone. If you really want bubbles in your tank than thats fine to do but just to warn you, they will get annoying after awhile.

air bubbles end up being lots and lots of salt creep. not to mention they trap pods, and other small animals and they end up dieing, taking away from the tank. some corals dont like air bubbles either. so unless its a fish only tank with live rock, then i wouldnt mess with adding an air stone. just my 2¢ your tank do what you want ;)

I agree, a bubbler will result in an enormous amount of salt creep. Back in the day we did this with undergravel filters, but learned our lesson. They look cool, but what a pain... :)
