gorg receding - question

I picked up a photosynthetic gorg the other day - like Tuesday from a LFS that generally is known to kill corals relatively quickly. It looked like it was in great shape and I knew it was only a matter of days before it was toast, plus it was very large and only $25. This is a Pseudopterogorgia bipinnata and this is pretty much exactly what it looks like:

The tips on some of the branches have started to recede, which I expected and I'm watching for more die-off but I would say the majority of it still looks great - minus polyp extension.

Understanding that it's still acclimating to my system, should I cut the branches into the good flesh and discard the die-off or let it take it's course and see what happens?

I normally cut the receded portion away if it is not too much.. It normally will stop receding else it would continue to recede from what I experience...

OK - I'll check it when I get home. I swished off the dying areas so I can watch it's progress. If it appears to be continuing to recede, then I'll cut it.

Thanks.

It will take quite long for them to start growing back on the receded part, I had one for months opening and growing but it just take a lot of time for it to grow back into the receded part..
