I can see it but not enough to identify. Does not really look like a gorilla crab but when in doubt, get it out! I would at least put it in the sump for the time being.

Turn off the "oil paint" filter on your camera :p
Those rocks are straight up Bob Ross!!!.. Lets paint some "happy rocks"..

I need to clean the glass, lazy me. It's hard to get a pic w/out zooming. It's actually just tropic eden sand.

I don't have a sump.

sorry the pics are giant. if you scroll over to the right, he's in them. This is only the 2nd time I've seen him in the tank and was surprised I was even able to snap a few pics.

can't really tell from the grainy pix but as long as the crab claws aren't pointy/sharp or there's no black claw tip, it's safe to keep. This is what gorilla crab looks like, if it is u want to remove it. Had one in tank and ate my serpent star.

Well this morning there was either a dead crab or a shell but it had the black claws. I'll keep an eye out for it. I couldn't tell if it was a dead one or a shell. Almost seemed like a dead one but something tells me I probably
wasn't that lucky.

Probably not that lucky, crabs are pretty tough critters and the shell is most likely just a molt.
