Hi,
I recently got 2 juvenile captive-bred picasso clownfish. I've had them 2 weeks. I would really like to get 2 juvenile cb black percula clownfish and I'm wondering if introducing them to the tank & the picassos would be a problem. What do you all think?
Thanks.

Yes, It would be a problem! You should never keep more than 2 clowns in the same tank. ESPECIALLY different types but even the same speiec will fight to the death unless the tank is very large.

If you do this you will be back to 2 clowns in no time and may the other 2 R.I.P.

i had a pair of ocellaris and a pair of black/white ocellaris in a 300 gallon tank.

the 2 pair fought constantly until i moved one pair into my sump.

not worth the risk

Thank you. I didn't know this.

Clownfish are just glorified Damselfish and are highly territorial but I have found CB clowns to be wimps but you still shouldn't put that many clowns in a 65g tank. BTW - the black/white CB percula's are more than likely Occelaris.

If they're truly black and white, they're absolutely Ocellaris (unless someone got an ID wrong down the lines and they're the black variant of Polymnus...I've seen that a few times.)

I agree, Picasso (Percula) and B&W (Ocellaris) though they can live together it is rarely successful. Heck I had a Perc and GSM Female paired for over a year, and decided to add a Male GSM. I have a 300 and still only have one pair in it. If you want more then 1 pair of clowns do what I did and transform one room in your residence into a Clown room "Fish". Man I Sure Do Love Clownfish.

If you want to have a mixed pair with one picasso and one B&W or at least 2 dead clowns you can add them. Clowns will fight anything that fills its niche in the food chain. I got by with ocellaris and clarks once, but even then they fought when they came face to face.
