I got a bandit angel this weekend for my HWI deep water tank. The perfect size of 3 1/2". Already eating myssis, pellets, and anything else i put in the tank. He is currently in his qt tank. What are bandit angels known to be carrying? I know some spices are known to carry more of certain parasites then others. I am currently doing the normal qt that treats ick, flukes, and other every day parasites on new fish. Anything i should be qting for that is outside the normal qt?

I'd worry about flukes and internal parasites but it sounds like your normal QT should take care of that! As you probably already know fatten him up before treatment in case he goes on strike.
 
Hey Justin. Great pickup. How os the anthias, bfly, and the sharks doing? If you got him from a talented diver, which I am sure you did, then there shouldn't be too many problems. Many of the bandits do poorly b/c of not decompressing the fish properly. So i would follow normal qt methods. A round of prazi and look for ich and other things and treat accordingly. What have you been keeping the display at temp wise?
 
if you dont mind me asking can you tell me the source from which you received the baby bandit im currently in the market for one but have had no luck finding a quality specimen

Thanks that is what i though i figured i would ask though just be be sure. He is very fat at the moment and eating like a champ. Just gotta hope he doesn't go on strike. I really don't think he will but u never know.

Everyone is doing great. That's one of the reasons why i want to make sure i do the QT right. Because if i do it wrong i might not be able to replace what i lose. I plain on starting a new update thread on my tank. Also starting to plain a tank upgrade. The display is kept 67-69F.

Yes which was the main reason why i got her. Just wanted to be sure it was suggested to use that only if the fish was pinned. I will def keep it in mind for when i get other deep water fish.
 
Sorry for the delay guys. A lot going on around here laity so i haven't been on. The little guy is doing great. Eating everything i put in the tank and getting very fat. I think it will be about another month of qt before he is ready for the main display. Here is a pic of him in QT.
