I got a really nice purple tip BTA. It is beautifull, it is green and purple. I also have a pair of black and white clowns. They havn't hosted in it yet. Should I geive them more time? If not I might sell them and geta maroon clown. They seem to host realtively easily. The clowns are not full grown yet, so I don't know if that matters. I know this sounds kinda lame, But I am fascinated with clowns and anemones. I really want a clown and a anemone to pair up.

just give them time to do it sometimes they will not pair up because the clown has another host sometimes a power head or some other coral.

false percs have been known to host some strange things, so I'd say you have a shot :) Just give it some time. Some have suggested shining a flashlight over the nem at night, kind of spotlighting it, may be helpful.

So...when do we get to see a picture of your new nem?

I think most of us in this forum are fascinated by these things, you don't sound crazy to us :)

Here are some pics of the BTA plus some others on my tank. I don't know if it is a PBTA anymore. It does have purple tips though....

The pics don't do its justice. This anemone is brightly colored. IT is so beautifull. Just hope my clowns will host in it..........

No it is the picture of the camera. The flash is on with teh lights on so it looks lighter than it really is. No it is not bleached at all.

Looks like it will do well for you :) Is it eating for you? If so, that's a good thing, and if the tentacle length isn't related to acclimation, but to hunger you should be fine.

Your pics include 2 fish, obviously one is a clown, but the other one looks like a wrasse, do you remember what kind it is? I've been looking onto filamented flasher wrasses and it looks similar so I'm curious :) Thanks!

It's a carpenter wrasse. I love this fish because they can put in schools. Very peacefull fish, and they change colors as they age. Iwould highly recomend this fish.

I don't think they school. I think they form harems. I had a similar flasher that would bully dartfish and I think it would do the same with other fish that occupy similar niches.

They can jump very well and can pop out of the tank.
When I was acclimating mine it jumped well over 5 feet and bounced off my eye, in less than 3 inches of water. The next leap it took ended up right under my halides.

What do you mean they change colors as they age? I just thought they "changed colors" as part of their displays against other males.
