Got bit by the SPS bug...

My tank started with the intentions of being a mixed reef with mostly LPS and Zoas. Well, this weekend my wife and I went to That Fish Place in Lancaster PA and since i was able to drag my wife along I let her choose a couple corals to go in the tank. Well, she actually picked a Green Cat Paw Stylophora Pistillata and a green tipped orange birds nest (ORA-Seriatopora sp.). Now I find myself thinking I want to fill this tank with a bunch of sticks! :bounce1:

aside: (When she picks something that I am willing to keep I snag it up almost immediately because she has a tenancy to like things such as Xenia, Clove Polyps, fish that will get too large or eat my coral, etc. I almost feel bad saying no, but I'm not going down the invasive corals or fish that I can't proved an adequate home for route.)

I was there yesterday to buy fish. I used to buy acros there but the radions on that long tank aren't doing a very good job and that tank has bubble algae(be careful and qt anything from there!) There is alot of stuff not growing or with improper or washed out color wise. Most of the stuff that have decent color were either new or easy to grow softies lps or low light sps. I have bought frags and compared growth and color btwn my system and theirs(night and day) I also monitored a few sticks that haven't sold and they either brown out or stn from the base. It is an awesome shop their otherwise. They get in healthy exotic fish/inverts and have a good guarantee and they have the best prices on dry goods anywhere retail and online

Yea, I've noticed the bubble algae and some of the bleached sps. I'm very particular when choosing a frag though. There were a couple that I liked but they had some clove polyp hitchhikers and another birds nest that was practically just the skeleton. I think you get that pretty much anywhere though. I asked what they had their leds set at above that tank and they were at 80%... for as high as they have them and as far as they are spaced, it's really not enough to keep a lot of sps long term.
