Lil more DIY this weekend and made some frag plugs for myself. Not to toot my own horn but these came out awesome and Im thoroughly happy with the results.

Not made from cements and such that have silicates and need to be cured for about 30 days like other plugs. These are made from pure aragonite southdown sand. No curing necessary. Heres how they came out

I like them because they seem a lil more practical and inconspicuous than the big bulky ones, and they are concaved so they can sit on eggcrate . If anyone needs any I'll be glad to make you some. Not trying to make a profit, just pay me my time and materials.
3$-10 plugs
5$-20 plugs.

Btw, there solid too. I was kinda ready for them to crumble if banged around a bit,but I was shellin them in my hands and they sounded like ceramic coins!

What did you use as a binding agent for the aragonite?

Ancient Chinese secret :D

Gresham: Cyanoacrylate.

Btw Steve, just got finished making yours. And yours are better than mine! :o Figured out how to stop any exposed adhesive with yours, inturn making coral spreading or encrusting faster and/or more likely.

Heres a pic of the ones I made you Steve, as you can see there all an inch in diameter, there height being concaved makes them a half inch tall. You can either have them cup shaped, which would be good for softies and would make using bridal vail or netting alot easier, or dome shaped if you want the frag more exposed to more current.

Hey just wanted to let you know that they work great Steve ! Put some pavona on last week and its already encrusting :)

Got shrooms,a cali-tort,pavona, palythoa, and green monti cap on em so far. They dont tip over and make it so much nicer and organized, now I dont have to constantly untip and watch them sting each other, lost a few frags that way.

Glad you approve Steve. I hope they work well for you :) Good seein you two tonight, glad we had a few minutes to chat.
