Got my 280g glass cages tank today

It's 72x36x25

I was worried after all the bad rap I've heard about them on here but thought I'd give them a try as the price was half of everywhere else.

The tank its self is very well built and the silicone was done very nicely. Looked better than most other tanks I've seen. No air bubbles.

I also had it euro braced which turned out to look very nice as well.

There were no scratches or chips that I could see anywhere.

My only bad point was the overflow, I told them I wanted holes that i could put two 2 inch bulkheads on. Well that cut two 2 inch holes that can only fit one inch bulkheads I believe. So I hope I can skim a tank that big but I might have to make the holes bigger.

Over all I was pleased with it and couldn't of ask for a better put together tank.

I'll put a few pics up when I get some time.

The build for this should be fun

Brad,

That is the exact size tank I am thinking of ordering from them. I look forward to some pictures.

Looking forward to the pics and the buildup. We have been very happy with our 240 gallon that we got from Glass Cages.

I got exactly what I wanted with my 390 from them with 3 overflows and 8 holes. I found the best way to deal with GC is to email exact specs and then discuss them on the phone.

Brad,
How thick is the glass?
also, it appeared as though there is no center brace. will it be strong enough for that height and width??

thanks for the feedback,
Geoff

Tank, looks great.. I could never figure out what the true issue with GC was. I think people in this hobby fall into the trap of "because mine cost more, mine is better than yours". But the whole purpose is to hold water. I am glad you went with GC as I plan to do the same myself.

I'm picking up my 240 from GC this Sunday and I was wondering how much does your 280 weight. It will be close to the 240 and I want to make sure I have enough muscle with me.
Also how do you like the tank, hope it's coming along well.

Thanks
Angelo

I would recommend at least 5 reasonably strong guys.
6 would be even better.

I have a 270 gallon glass tank and it took 6 of us. It was heavy but doable.
