Got My Lights !!!!!!!!

Tank Predator

New member
i got them last Thursday and on Saturday i took my canopy over my buddy's house and we did some upgrading to it we added 7-1/2 inch's to it and some trim made some cut outs for fans in the back then spent the whole day sanding & painting

so today i mounted my 2-250 watt HQI pendants i also tried to mount 2 vho's however trying to mount them on the side of the canopy instead of the inside lid is a problem

the bulbs i got have internal reflectors so mounting them on the side the light is not going to be facing down on the tank instead it will shinning on the back side of the canopy

any ideas would be great for me to solve this problem

i am really happy though with them 250 w HUGE DIFFERENCE

You could try to make mounting stands that attach to the side of the canopy and then mount the end caps to that so they point down. Sorta like an "L" bracket.

O

Hope my quick crappy drawing gives you the idea I was thinking of. The leg only has to be as wide as the end cap or standoff.

edit*- Well the drawing did not turn out right on here, but maybe it will help. The bottom two parts were supposed to be the end cap and standoff centered in the bottom of the ___ mounting leg.

I agree with Andy. (RC does not hold place in the text area so use periods to leave space ......)

The L bracket will work well. Lowes/depot will have a stainless one that should do fine

opps saw you made it the other direction, either way

Why is the hardware crappy? The wood would have to be special treated over and over again as to not rot away in a years time. Including man hours it's not worth it for this one little thing.
