Got my water mixing station set up!

Usually confused...
Well, I missed the PROP auction due to my granddaughter's birthday, but the weekend wasn't a total waste.

I have been slowly collecting equipment to build up a 155 gallon reef tank I have, but I knew a water mixing station was the initial priority, especially with a 30 and 55 gallon tank already running. So a few weeks ago I made a trip out to Apache Junction and picked up so Food Grade barrels at a real good price:

On the way back, I picked up the biggest requirement of all, a SpectraPure MaxCap system:

I should preface this all by saying I have a problem with lack of space. My house does not have a garage, and has only a small laundry room. I was looking for something I could move around, and had seen some built on portable carts, so I found one that had a 1000 pound weight limit, and it even fit in the area!!!

As happens with all good plans, reality hits, and, as you can see from this long shot, there is no way to get the cart out of the space without taking out the corner of the door or the laundry machine, so plan B was in the works:

Next post - the plan comes together!!!

In an amazing moment of tolerance for the reefing addiction, the spousal unit said, "Just take the back half of the laundry room and set it up there...

So, not one to take an opportunity like that and not run with it, off I went. I put up the SpectraPure unit and got it breaking in...

This unit came with a float valve, so I installed it in the top of one barrel, and, using uniseals I installed a drain line in the bottom of the RODI barrel going to a pump:

I then used Uniseals to put a drain and mix line into a second barrel to use as a salt mixing barrel:

Plumbed it all together with some valves and the pump I got from Mark last weekend, and hopefully it will work great! I plan on having 25 foot of hose coming from the front dispensing valve once the large aquarium is set up for water changes.

Once nice thing I asked them to do was add in a t-piece so I can pull of straight RO water to use for drinking water (which my family goes through tons of). That is what the extra small line is for.
