While I already have 2 nanos and a 70, I came across a GREAT deal of someone selling an established jbj 24g nano with sand, 30 lbs rock, and some equipment. So I didn't need it, but I bought it. Question is: What is the best thing for me to do with it? I DON'T want to set up a whole new system--I already ALSO have a 46 fresh loach tank. Soooo....my thoughts, please chime in....
1) Sit it next to my 70g reef tank, let it serve as somewhere to store and grow my frags (and grow macro) in addition to: using it as QT/hospital when needed (my tanks are mostly full, so no big need for qt right now. Thus, a multipurpose tank. Downside: what to do with frags if/when I need to treat sick fish;
2) It wouldn't been TOO hard to raise the tank on the stand (would just need a booster around 8-12 inches) so it's above the water level of the 70g display. Then I could drill a whole in the back, add a pump and lines, and use it for a gravity-fed refugium to the big tank
3) ??? not sure what else? Like I said, do NOT want to set it up as my **5th** display tank.
Thoughts?
