My 4" Crocea had not been fully extending the last day and today he jumped off his rock, pulled it out and found it full of pyramid snails in the scutes and many by the foot have brushed them all off and am doing a FW dip what else can I do have never had pyramids before and the clam came from a bb sps tank and the past owner had it for 2 years

My tank has been up for a year and have never seen anything like the pm's in all that time:confused:

don't dip him, it does nothing for pyramid snails and just stresses the clam more. you have to keep manually removing them by brushing every day or two. it's best to remove the clam an hour or two after lights out and give him a good once over. when you see the numbers decreasing you can decrease the frequency of the cleanings. best to keep any eye on them for a month or two to be sure.

I had already done the dip, it did seem to help bring the snails to the surface, especially by the foot area, hopefully all will be ok, I just freaked out when I saw them and did what first came to mind

AFAIK a FW dip is only good for helping with pinched mantel, but if it worked to draw out the pyramids then good and maybe that will offer him some relief. hope everything works out for you and your clam.

:sad2: Between the snails, FW dip, and our heater went out last night temp dropped to 72f so Mr Crocea passed:thumbdown
