Cameron of the Cilita left i definetly think #4 is the best
 
Not sure, maybe a small rimless glass cube type less than 30 gallons...? Anyone know where I can pick one up at a decent price? I would need lighting too. Maybe a skimmer too...?
 
If you are going to plumb it into your ELOS you wont need an additional skimmer! You will not need much light either....just something that looks good... I would love to see a custom rimless tank to match your display though... that would be sweet! : )

I had a P. cilata (Rainbow Mantis) for 4-5 years known as Chaka prawn. Bright canary yellow and realy cool to watch. I only fed it live food every now and then, and it would readily take small shrimp scraps, silversides pieces, etc. Over a few molts they will change color to blend in with their backgrounds somewhat. Amazingly fast strike! He got to about 4" maximum and would not hesitate to take down the largest cleaner shrimp, etc. But wouldn't touch larger fish like damsels, etc unless it caught them napping at night. I would put in 5 of the cheapest damsels I could find and then slowly over 2-3 months they would just vanish one by one.

We also has a small N. wennerae in a 1.5g pico tank on our bar that we fed scraps and small snails/crabs to.
 
Okay, I'll probably come along for the ride as well. I am going to wait and see if anything else comes in on the Philippines shipment on the 11th.

I didnt know if everyone was in a hurry to get theres because i would also like to see what comes next plus i wanna set up a little tank in my office for the monster:)
 
Okay, got my tank/stand...

I'm thinking of plumbing it into my elos system so I don't need another sump, heater, skimmer, chiller, etc and also get more water volume to help cycle it faster. Also I plan on using it as a mantis/refugium with cheato.

What do you think? Is it too cluttered?

Wow! Haven't been on this thread in a while and looks like you are all getting mantis's! I have been drooling over stomapod.com for some time now but haven't pulled the trigger. You guys are making it very tempting!


Nuuze - perfect mantis tank! Is it that a 30? Where did you get it and how much if you don't mind me asking?

I had a black acrylic divider cut today from TAP... gonna split the tank in half to house two! I will post a pic when its installed (hopefully tomorrow)
Im wondering if I should split the tank directly in the middle (which would look better) or put the divider all the way to one edge of the overflow to provide one side with more space then the other... (peacock gets bigger)

Okay, after talking with the wife and kids I'm gonna relocate the tank to the opposite wall of where my elos tank is. I've decided to go sumpless with a hang-on back skimmer setup.
