Got Stomatopod?

Yeah, that heater is starting to make me think. I want to see how warm the water gets with the skimmer. I have a circulation pump coming in too. Didn't think of the titanium heater at the time...

Looks good Mike. That is one very clean cut. It looks professional. And, yeah, I also think a Ti heater would be a good idea, just incase your mantis gets a little carried away.

Some advice from Dr. Roy I told him I would pass along to other's~

"Roy's List is not and was not intended to be a "how to" on how to set up an aquarium for stomatopods. It provides identification photos and tank parameters that would be best for a particular species including illumination, temperature and substrate. Over the years I have "suggested" what would be "natural" habitats for particular stomatopods, but these are really only useful if you are interested in maintaining a single animal in a setting similar to what it would inhabit in the wild. Most aquarists are not interested in such "displays".

I certainly would not persume to make suggestions as to how to maintain good water quality. There are lots of opinions on this and as long as you can keep your pH above 8.1, your nitrate and nitrites down and your salinity stable at around 1.025, you should be O.K. Also, don't smoke near your tank, don't use soaps or other cleaners, and avoid any component that could have ever been in contact with copper."

I hope to have the plywood cut and start the first coat of paint by tomorrow...it will probably not be until next week before I can start plumbing the tank(s) ~ one piece @ a time though!

Anyone else have pics of their progress to share?

I was there today! I saw they have three left...one sold. They also sold the 10" Peacock for $120! - and I had brought my camera with me to take some pic's of it...what a beautiful specimen! : (
The three they have left are all small (2-2 1/2") and best I could tell two were peacock's but not sure on the third...they were all "smasher's"

looks great Dave. I'm still checking craislist everyday to see if i can find my guy a nice luxurious pad!

I had a cool corner tank today and i guess someone beat me too it:) sucked even my wife liked it

Thats a great price! Is it glass?

No its acrylic. but i agree it is a great price. Keith does some amazing work. I have a 100 gal. acrylic tank by truvu and i i'm definetly not as satisfied with the quality. I wish i had keith build me that one too. Oh well maybe one day.

Well, I hate to be the barrer of bad news.... I thought I would share a e-mail that I recieved today from Billy:(
It has some good news mixed in with some bad:
"Hello Dave,
I just wanted to write you to let you know we have lost OS 1 and OS 7. OS 7 had apparently struggled to get through a molt, while OS 1 passed for no apparent reason. We rarely loose specimens but it figures it would happen while holding them for the group buy. Please let James and Davey know that we can offer a similar price to any of the others we have. We are also placing another indo shipment this week that will bring more in addition to the Philippines shipment due to us tomorrow hopefully.
Thank you Dave, hope you guys are doing well. I returned from Key West last night and it is good to be back. We recently acquired the biggest anemone I have ever seen while I was gone. I measured it today at 34”. It is a S. mertensii, a very rare carpet. It was nice to come back to this news but not to losing a few stomatopods.
