Got Stomatopod?

Wish I could say the same for mine. She refuses to eat at all. She literally throws silversides at me and gives me dirty looks. Well...ok...maybe I'm giving her a little more credit than is due...but sure looks that way. She does come out but not as often as at first. If she's getting ready to molt, how long from the time they get picky till they actually molt usually?

Hmmm ok....she ate part of a silverside last week....maybe I'll try something live in a few days.

Nearly 8 months have passed since I posted on this thread... so I thought I would try to get a couple pics of my P. ciliata to post. Now, If only I could get her to hold still for a few seconds! :D
I found a couple tiny loose shrooms as I was breaking down the old frag tank, so I figured they would do fine in the tank with the Stomatopod. I should have thought of that sooner! She came right out of her hole to investigate into what had just fallen to the floor of her tank, and paused long enough for me to get a couple quickies.
Not the greatest pics, but enjoy~

Nice! I haven't seen my chiragra in quite some time. She is currently residing in my refugium. I saw her poke her head out today though. = ) Gonna have to set up a real tank for her again.

Great pics, Dave! I still have Cuddles. She loves eating rock and emerald crabs, snails and PE mysis. I had to remove all of the live rocks in the tank due to hair algea. Her house is currently 2 - 1 1/2" PVC elbows. No mater how much I clean the tank the algea comes back. Every cleaner I put in there she's eaten or killed including a sea hare. So I'm trying the no lights approach. :)

Has anyone been on stomatopod.com lately? It looks like they only have two specimens available right now and they are (both) P. ciliata...
I wonder if they have lost their supply?

Unfortunately I lost my peacock mantis from the buy just this past thursday. i'm thinking maybe she had a problem with her shed. I'm not sure though, she seemed fine the day before, and had been feeding very enthusiastically. I'm stumped....she was awesome and will be missed.

Dang Jon, sorry to hear that :( I lost one of my Peacocks to what I believe were molting issues too. The other I found a new home for already, or I would offer her to you.

Davey, I'm thinking they have no one to supply them. I have not tried to e-mail them yet though... and I cant remember how to log on to my account for their forums.

Hey guy's (and Ginger)! :grouphug: :p
I am still alive in case anyone was wondering!
I am (still) enjoying my break from reefing, although I am starting to smell that faint smell of smoke that shurely will light my fire again!
Nice to see the smoldering coal's of this thread stoaked again.
