Got the deal of the century at Home Depot Today!!!

Check this out!!
I was approached by an employee of the Home Depot near my house.
He asked if I liked tools.
Duh.. Yeah I said
He then said what about free tools?
I said Uhh yeah sure. What do you have in mind, and what's the catch?

They would GIVE me $200 in tools at NO CHARGE, IF I opened a Commercial business account with them.

I was like no way! There's still some other catch. They said nope that's the deal, and it's today ONLY.

I called my friend and told him to get over here so we could pick out some good stuff. He thought I had mis-understood. No I said it's for real.

So he came down and looked at all the signs up all over the store that said open an account and get %10 off UPTO $200.

I still told him that was incorrect, I was GETTING $200 to spend, and a %10 discount.

I applied and got approved.

I told him to apply so we could get $400 between the two of us.
He was still not believing.
We have been wanting a nice generator, and a nice air compressor.
So I said I will go get the air compressor, and we'll see what happens.

So I picked up the air compressor a nice commercial construction grade Ridgid air compressor, and took it to the commercial desk to check out.

I walked out with a $275.00 compressor (It was even on sale for only $220.00) FOR ONLY $20.00!!!!!


My friend in shock said ok!!
here we go, he filled out an application, got approved, and so we went over and picked up a nice Coleman 3250 watt (27 amps) Generator ($355.00) Got the $200.00 off and paid ONLY $155.00!!!

So we both left with our new NICE generator and a NICE air compressor for only $175.00!!!! OUT THE DOOR after the %10 discount.

We got line $630.00 worth of tools for only $175.00!!!)

The commercial desk closed at 5:30 before I could get the word out to most people :(

(My other friend picked up a nice $200.00 drill press for free cause he ran over as soon as I called)

Now when the power goes out I have a nice way to keep my tanks RUNNING!!
 
Great deal!

I'm a little curious about the sign though... you said it said, "get %10 off UPTO $200." That looks like they're offering you 10% off stuff... a 10% discount of up to $200 rather than $200 dollars worth of inventory plus 10% off.
 
I thought that was odd, too. I also interpret it as, you're alloted a 10% discount for up to $2,000 spent. Hopefully you're right, though. That first bill for the commercial accounts you and your buddies got could be big:(
 
All he has to do is look at his receipts!

BTW isn't it common to have 10% off if you sign on to a store credit card anywhere? Why did they require a commercial account? Maybe that was the catch. Maybe there is an annual or even monthly fee to pay?
 
10-20% off is common. That's not what I'm questioning. I expected that, but not also $200 in products free along with it... I wonder if the sales person could have interpreted it wrong? Or perhaps it just is a really insane deal they're offering. Definitely worth it if that was the case and you qualify.
 
That's the normal deal. They did not put up signs for this deal.

TRUST ME, I looked at the recipt I signed, and read all the fine print.

My other friend went over there today and asked about it. They said it was really yesterday but they would do it anyways.
He told me on the phone, he got a protable table saw!!!

I have a co-worker headed over there at 4:00 today to give it a try, I'll let you know how he does.

So if you have some time I guess you might be able to get the deal today too!?!?!

I called the store and it was true. But the guy said it was for yesterday only. If I were close by today would definitely give it a try.

It's a too weird, good deal to be true!?!?!
But my friends and I are proof it worked!!

Give it a try today if you can.
 
Same store, Antelope and Roseville rd.
It's not offically extended, but it sounds like if you beg and make up an excuse why you could not make it yesterday they may "bend" the rules for ya.

HD's commercial account has no annual fee. They do 10% off for signing on regularly. Each store can also do its own special promotion to meet some quota. I confirmed this with a person at another HD store and when asked if the $200 freebie could be true he wasn't surprised at all.

Too bad most of us learned this too late.
