Anyone going to the CMAS meeting that have any gracilaria that they are willing to donate or sell? I'm looking to add some of this species to my refugium.
I've gone the route of trying to get macros via postal mail, but so far only locally acquired macros have survived.
Good luck trying to grow gacilaria.
It needs high nutrient levels to grow. Now if your feeding it with a highly populated FOWLER tank, it may have a chance..

Not sure how hard it is to grow, I wanted to try it. I have chaetomorpha now which is growing at a moderate rate. Isn't Bob Fenner (or is it Calfo?) a big proponent of gracialaria?
I had some gracilaria in a sump with chaeto. The chaeto over whelmed the gracilaria. The guy I bought it from, told me it needed high nutrients. I gave it a try. Lots of light & it still withered away in my sump.
