Last week I pickup a Royal Gramma from my LFS. It showed signs of Ich in the QT tank so I have been treating it with Hyposalinity (SG is 1.009). It doesn't seem to move around that much and has trouble swimming swims sideways and it just sits at the bottom in a corner and only comes up at feeding time. I Think It might have some sort of swim bladder problem. If it dose what could I do to treat it?

Are you using a calibrated refractometer to measure the salinity? What is the pH? It is critical to use a very accurate means of measuring the salinity and you should be looking at the salinity and not the Specidif Gravity. What is the temperature? Is the Qtank cycled?

Yes I am using a calibrated refractometer. The PH is 8.2 and Temp is 79F there and there is no tracable ammonia. I created the tank by doing a water 10G water change to my and adding that to the QT I also had a sponge in my sump for the last 3 months and I am using that in a HOB filter.

Is it possible that the type of fish doesn't fair well in hyposaline conditions?
