Hello,
i have a frag- "phils granulosa" which has been in the tank for about 3 months. it has 4 ~one inch branches. i noticed the longest branch losing some of its color, looked closer and it looked like its skin was coming off. so i moved it to an area with less flow. (though this branch was the furthest away from the direction that the flow is hitting it). as of now it doesn't appear to have any loose skin, but the one branch doesn't have much color to it. the other thing i've noticed is the affected branch has lost some of its girth. the other 3 have been affected as they do not appear to have as much pigment. though they still have a bit of that dual color- on my piece the sides in the shade develop a kind of maroon coloring.
so my question- should i cut that pale branch and hope for the best? the base looks fine to me, pretty well encrusted with no bleaching or rtn happening. or should i just wait? its been almost 3 weeks since i noticed and made said changes.
what do you guys or gals think? any input would be much appreciated. thank you for your time.
