grape calupera

Does this need to be planted, or should it be? It's currently just being tumbled around my DT, and has no roots or anything to plant as such.

Is this normal behaviour? Is there any way to fix it somewhere?

You could use a rubber band. Most people consider it invasive and wouldn't want it in their DT. It's better off in a refugium imo.

I would worry about Caulerpa in DT. It can grow like a weed and has very strong roots, becoming almost imposssible to eradicate. It will also grow over your coral and possibly shade it completely, causing it to die.
I would remove caulerpa from DT and move it to the sump.

I grow it in my refugium, but it can easily get out of control in a display and only a fish that eats a lot of it can keep that in control once that happens. :)

I did the tank tear down, and it didn't work. After it came back, I got a rabbit fish and no more problem. Now I move caulerpa racemosa from the refugium to the main tank about once a week to feed the fish. :)
