Gravity dosing

Trying to keep cost down or at least begin to dose while I save up for some pumps.

Has anyone had any success or failures dosing with a container and iv line?

I have searched around RC and there are a few threads but no long term follow ups. Im a little worried about consistently controlling the rate of drip. Im no fluid dynamics professor so maybe someone can help me. If the line is in full siphon does it matter how full or empty the container is?

I think the issue would be, I know dosing pumps dose a certain amount per hour but you can turn them on/off to get exactly what you needed. That being said, if you needed an exact certain ml daily and you could fine tune it just right I don't see why you couldn't do it.

the iv line clogging at the tip is the main issue, this is how I carbon dose actually, pour vodka into the iv line and let it drip

Thats what my biggest worry is. It beats the alternative of over dosing though.

I agree with Pedro, I have used a feed line before but the alk beaded at the end and would clog. If you are able to observe or be in close proximity then you will be fine. Adjust it so it helps maintain the elements and do it in amounts or a rate that you will not over dose.
