Gravity feed a calcium reactor?

Is there any reason i can't feed my calcium reactor via a gravity/siphon? I am using an aqualifter right now, but wonder why i can't just take a line from the tank, down to the reactor, and then into the sump? It would be a siphon/gravity feed.

you can try it ....but I don't think it will work.......not enough pressure.............I feed my calcium reactor with my main pump....I built a manifold with 4 gate valves on it, they feed the Calcium Reactor, Chiller, Phosban reactor, and Carbon Reactor.... My auto top off goes from a 5gal bucket >>Aqualifter>>Kalk Reactor>>Sump

I did that when I plumbed up my 90g. I have a gravity line for my Skimmer, Ca reactor and Rowa reactor. The only problem I am having is the detritus coming from the drain line. So I have yet to actually put the Ca reactor online. I dont want a bunch of detritus build up in the chamber. So I think I am going to redo my return line and feed the reactor from the return pump instead.

Depends upon the model you have. MTC Procal I once had gravity feeds great. Korallin I now have does not. I believe most of it has to do with the size of the recirc pump on the reactor.
