Gray Leather problem (?)

I came home to find our gray leather looking like this:

We've had it several months, and this is the first time it's looked like this durin g the day so I'm worried. Does anyone have an idea?

All the other softies (toadstool, kenya tree + gorgonians) and L/SPS are fine. Water paramaters are:

SG: 1.025
79F
Nitrates: 2
Nitrites: 0
Phosphate: 0
Alk: 3.5
Ca: 425
Mg: 1450

Thanks!

The only thing I can think of is that the Zoanthids might be stinging it. Although I have to admit I would think it would be the other way around.

I would try moving it.

No other changes or recent additions to your system?

It's shocking because it doesn't look like something that happened overnight. There is really no "grey" leather. Is it possible you purchased it and it was slowly bleaching to the point it ended up where it is tonight?

I'll take that back. Colt corals, or finger leather, like you have can oftentimes have a greyish undertone. Yours just looks wilted and irritated. Try moving it away from the Zoanthids.

It could be getting ready to slouth, they will draw up and get a shiny film on them in a couple of days.Thats just my guess.

Yep, it's meg/l. Sorry for not indicating units; bad engineer! ;)

I think it may have been sloughing as Snakemanvet guesses. It has started to look more normal. I'll keep an eye on it.

Thanks all!
