Green algae on tank glass

Hello everyone,
I have a red Sea max 250 that has been up and running forabout 2 months. Just a couple days ago, algae has been building up on tank glass. I started out with two t5's. Found out that the ballasts were shot out so had to replace all of those. Then I got 2 more blue t5 and then a couple weeks later got the final 2 t5's installed. I'm thinking it might just be that the tank is adjusting to all the light power now causing the algae bloom on glass. I do 15 gallon water changes every two weeks in a 67 gallon tank.

Water parameters:
Phosphates: 0.10
Nitrates: 2
SG: 1.025
Calcium: 380ppm
Dkh: 9.9

Any advice helps as to how to get rid of algae on glass!

Algae will always grow on the glass you need to use a magnet scraper to clean it off.

Everybody gets algae on the glass. Get a good magnetic glass cleaner and try to clean it every day. If it builds up for a few days it is a lot harder to get off.

What kind of water are you using, RO/DI or tap? This green algae your seeing on the glass might be due to an abundance of Silicates in the water right now.

I use RO water from the local fish store. Thanks for the info. It got to the point that it was growing back within 5 hours or so. I did a 10 gallon water change after I scraped the algae off yesterday. Looks like it is doing OK now. Do you guys ever recommend to do a 3 day blackout? I would post a picture but it's not uploading

Not for something thats totally normal in a new tank..
New tanks go through diatom/algae/cyano stages as they are maturing (up to 6 months or more usually)...

Keep nitrates/phosphates LOW and it will pass/not be a big issue..
I use a magfloat on my tank about once a week..
