how much gfo would ya use in a 29 gallon biocube ? will that kill the green algae i use ro water

Need to check your Ca & Alk. I've found that fall off in Alk can cause algae problems and don't just dose with Alk buffer -- need to keep Ca & Alk in balance. This helps coralline to "win out" over the problem algae.

Excess nitrates and phosphates are also a cause of excessive green algae. Fish have basically no intestines, if they take longer than 30 seconds to eat the food you are overfeeding the tank.

dont have no nitrates and phosphates i tested the water i went and got 30 blue leg crabs and some snails think the bulbs are bad as its a used tank so im going to order the 4 pc light for it today its got the light upgrade in it and fans upgrade and pump and who knows how old them bulbs are tanks only 3 weeks old i did put gfo in thair thanks

Nitrates & Phosphates are difficult to test for with home kits if you have nuisance algae - the algae is using them for food so the kits show a false negative.

Jury is out on aged bulbs causing nuisance algae - there are theories reinforcing both ideas and I've never found 100% convincing evidence that aged bulbs increase algae from a spectral shift.

Bottom line is that there's something in your tank creating food for the algae. Water changes & time along with using RO/DI water, not overfeeding, etc. will help alleviate the problem.

Is this a new tank?
